Q: Where are you located?

A: Within easy driving distance I can shoot on location in Chicago, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Jackson, Kalamazoo, South Haven, St. Joseph / Benton Harbor, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Ft. Wayne, and Columbus. The principal studio and mailing address is in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Q: Do you shoot digital?

A: I am a digital photography expert, able to shoot and deliver ready-to-place, color managed electronic files.

Q: What does Ready-To-Use / Ready-To-Place Art mean?

A: When given exacting specifications, I can produce an image file ready to be imported and used in your page layout program directly, without any alterations, color correction or modification of any kind. Simply drop in and move on to your next task. I work to understand the designer’s needs and to deliver precisely what is required, so the designer can get on with the rest of the often complex design project as quickly as possible. Upon request, an Adobe Photoshop file will be produced to your precise demands, ready for easy placement in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign or Quark Xpress.

Q: What makes Keith Mumma Photography different?

A: I have an editorial eye for maximizing the value of existing scenes in combination with creative lighting to produce high-impact yet true to life imagery for your corporate communications. Using existing environments with little or no modification results in shorter shoot times and faster results, never compromising the integrity of the designer’s intent or requirements.

For your editorial needs, I have an easy style for gaining the confidence of my subjects, allowing me to gain access to more opportunities for excellent candid photography. Long experience in editorial photography has given me keen senses for finding the right place and time for the perfect photograph.

Q: How many photos will we do?

A: When we use digital, we will shoot until you are happy. For non-editorial work, situation and time permitting, we will continue to shoot until the on-site art director approves a final shot.

Q: What’s your turnaround time?

A: Next day service is available on request. Finished files can otherwise easily be delivered within a matter of a few days.

Q: What are your “specialties”?

A: Going on location to photograph people and places is my specialty. I am especially skilled at working in tightly controlled environments such as pharmaceutical laboratories and hospital operating rooms. But I am equally confident working in casual, natural-light settings indoors or out.

Q: What about projects that require travel?

A: As a photographer with International experience, I am quite capable in situations that require any amount of travel. I regularly travel to Hati and the Dominican Republic, for instance. Whether it’s around the world, or around the block, I get the shot.
